Frankfurter fritters are an easy-to-make and extremely tasty appetizer, which your children will love … but which will appeal to even the most gluttonous adults;) The procedure is very simple and, once the leavening times are removed, also quick. The result is very tasty pancakes, golden and crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. We liked them a lot, if you want to try them let me know what you think!

  • Doses for 4 people:
  • 400 gr of 00 flour
  • 200 gr of frankfurters
  • 1 egg
  • 5 gr of dry brewer’s yeast
  • 400 ml of water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil
  • pepper (optional)
  • Seed oil for frying
(100 ml = 3.4 fluid oz. – 100 grams = 3.5 ounces – 1 liter = 34 fluid oz. – 1 kilogram = 2.205 pounds – 100C° 212F° – 180C° 356F°)
  • preparation: 20 min
  • cooking: 10 min
  • total: 30 min + 2 hours of leavening

Method

How to make fritter frankfurters

First prepare the batter: put flour, baking powder and sugar.
Add egg and oil and start mixing, then add salt and pepper and gradually add the water.
You will need to obtain a smooth and homogeneous batter.

Cut the sausages into small pieces and incorporate them into the batter, then leave to rise for at least 2 hours or until doubled.

Heat the seed oil in a saucepan and start frying the mixture in spoonfuls, a few pancakes at a time so that they do not stick together and the oil does not cool.

As they are ready, lift them with a slotted spoon and leave to drain on kitchen paper.
The sausage pancakes are ready, serve them immediately.
