Turmeric taralli are a perfect appetizer for an aperitif, a buffet dinner in front of the TV or simply as a hunger-breaker during the day. Turmeric, it is now known, is a precious ally for our health: rich in properties, from anti-inflammatory to digestive, from antioxidant to cardioprotective, we should insert it more often in our daily diet. But given and considering that not everyone likes its slightly bitter and pungent taste, here is a way to make your loved ones eat it: insert it in the bread dough or, as in this case, taralli. The cheerful color will brighten the mood and in the long run you will feel the beneficial effects;)

  • Doses for 40-50 tarallini:
  • 250 gr of 00 flour
  • 100 gr of dry white wine
  • 65 gr of extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons of turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon ginger
  • 5 g of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of baking soda
(100 ml = 3.4 fluid oz. – 100 grams = 3.5 ounces – 1 liter = 34 fluid oz. – 1 kilogram = 2.205 pounds – 100C° 212F° – 180C° 356F°)

Method

How to make turmeric taralli

Put flour, salt, ginger, turmeric, salt, wine and oil in a bowl and mix until a smooth and uniform dough is obtained.
Cover with cling film and let stand at room temperature for at least 30 minutes.

Take the dough again and make some loaves about 1 cm thick.
Cut the loaves into pieces about 8 cm long, with which you will have to form the classic taralli, placing them gradually on the lightly floured work surface.

Bring a pot of water to the boil with the baking soda melted in it and boil the taralli a few at a time, drain them with a slotted spoon as they rise to the surface and place them on a clean tea towel.
Then place them on the oven pan lined with parchment paper, slightly apart, and cook for about 25-30 minutes or until they are lightly browned in a static oven preheated to 200 ° C.

Turmeric taralli are ready, enjoy them as an aperitif or munch on them in front of the TV.
